Journey

A quick timeline of how I got here:

  • 1986 - Born in a small village near Babolsar, Mazandaran, northern Iran.
  • 1993 - Started primary school at Masoud Saad, in Babolsar.
  • 1998 - Started secondary school at Motahari, in Babolsar.
  • 2001 - Started high school at Shahed, in Babolsar.
  • 2004 - Began my BSc in Electrical Engineering at Babol Noshirvani University of Technology.
  • 2009 - Went on to an MSc in Electronic Systems at the University of Mazandaran, where a master's project on Persian signature recognition first pulled me into machine learning.
  • 2018 - Moved to Canada and started a PhD in Computer Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, in the Liv4D lab, working with Sainte-Justine hospital on pediatric ARDS diagnosis.
  • 2022 - Joined Junction AI as a part-time data scientist while still a PhD student.
  • October 2023 - Finished my PhD.
  • Since then, I've grown into a Machine Learning Engineer at Junction AI, working on LLM and RAG systems.
  • Looking ahead, my next stop is likely Ontario - I'm staying in Canada, just curious to experience another province.
