My Story

I was born in 1986 in Babolsar, in Mazandaran province in northern Iran. From there, my path took me through electrical engineering, into machine learning by way of an unlikely master's project, through co-founding Saraye Sabze Hooman — a company applying machine learning and data science to personalised smart home solutions — and eventually to a PhD in Montréal, where I lived from 2018. In September 2026 I left Québec for Ontario, and my new chapter started in L'Orignal — a quiet Franco-Ontarian village on the Ottawa River, in the east of the province.

Today I work as a Machine Learning Engineer — remotely from L'Orignal, with the same team I joined in Montréal — building AI and LLM systems that need to hold up in the real world, not just in a paper. What drives me is being genuinely helpful: I like working at the edge of technology and finding creative ways to solve problems that actually matter - whether that meant helping diagnose a condition in children or building tools that make LLMs more reliable for real people today.

A few things matter to me a lot: honesty, justice, and democracy. I try to live by them. I'm calm almost all the time, and I genuinely love both of my countries - Iran, where I'm from, and Canada, where I've built my life.
